Mindfulness Walking
At Walking Space we endeavour to use walking as a tool for greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
Mindfulness walks help us unravel our busy minds and connect us to the present moment. This is approached by building a slowness and awareness while we walk in reflective, contemplative silence through regional nature trails.
Being in the silent presence of another person can shift your perspective to a more conscious and present moment, especially when drawing upon the serenity of nature. Participants will have the option to quietly greet others at arrival and after a brief introduction, Andrew will lead a silent meditative walk. While the walk itself is silent, participants are welcome to stay after to socialize. Because of the nature of these walks, music in earbuds, cell phones, and dogs are not allowed. Children are welcome so long as they abide by the concept of walking in silence.
“By walking more slowly than my regular pace, I was able to appreciate all things more deeply.” Review, September 2020.
